As the D.C. region expanded west, Capital One made big plans for a new expansion. The new Capital One Center in Tyson’s Corner sits atop a 26-acre development. It has been recognized as one of the up-and-coming urban developments in the area and was awarded Best New Development 2022 by Washington Business Journal. The project features offices, a hotel, retail space, performing arts center, public green spaces, sculpture gardens, grocery store, bars, and restaurants.

It encompasses 2.7 million square feet of multi-use office, hospitality, and retail spaces, along with parking garages and the performing arts center. Capital One Tower is a new 1.7 million square foot building in Tyson’s Corner, standing nearly 470 feet tall. It’s a mixed-use building with eight floors of podium, which include a garage and multi-purpose space. Above this, the high-rise tower spans floors 9-31, housing fully outfitted office space. Additionally, the building includes two stories of penthouse space.
Block A, situated in the Tysons Corner neighborhood, Block A, is a 24-story class A twin-tower building, totals 900,000 square feet. It will house 850,000 square feet of office spaces, and two levels of future retail space spanning 20 floors. Committed to environmental sustainability, Capital One is aiming for LEED Gold certification for this building.

As part of Capital One Center, Capital One Hall serves as a high-end performance and community space. Capital One Hall will inspire a new generation of music, dance and theater goers. It features a 1,600-seat main theater, a 225-seat black-box theater and a large 4-story open event atrium. Additionally, a 12-acre rooftop park includes a 230-seat amphitheater, sculpture garden and biergarten. The building is anticipating a LEED NC Gold certification.
