Kyle chose Morgan State University because "it was the best opportunity to further my education and wrestling career, pretty cool to be on a program just starting out and show the wrestling world how great we can be". He is currently pursuing his MBA in Finance and is expected to graduate in May 2025. He also earned High Honors in the Department of Sociology.

Before Morgan State University, Kyle Harger had a collegiate wrestling career. As a Sophomore (2005-06): Went 1-5 on the year with his win coming in open competition. As a Freshman (2004-05): Redshirted the season and posted an 11-7 record including four falls while wrestling at 149 pounds.
