The strange relationship between Kamille and AEW began when the former NWA World Women’s Champion signed with the company in February 2024. The 31-year-old was fresh off her historic 812-day title run that was praised by fans and critics alike. Speculation has mounted regarding her status with the company.
Kamille's Debut and Alliance with Mercedes Mone
She had reportedly signed with AEW dating back to April of 2024, but didn't officially debut until July when she formed an alliance with current TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. She finally did in July 2024, aligning herself with Mercedes Mone. Their run together didn't last long, however.
Kamille's time with Mercedes Moné was short-lived, but that doesn't mean she's done with AEW.
Mysterious Circumstances and Absence
Kamille "quit" working for Moné at the end of November and she was found mysteriously laid out days later. That was Kamille’s last AEW match. She had an awkward and rushed split with Mercedes Mone, but the AEW star’s last segment was her found unconsious backstage.
Tony Khan's Comments and Potential Return
While some had speculated this was the end of her AEW run, AEW founder Tony Khan has confirmed that's not the case. Khan appeared on the Battleground Podcast, suggesting she will be back in AEW at some point.

“We don’t know who attacked Kamille, and the last time we saw her, she was attacked. We know she had a breakup with Mercedes Mone in their business relationship. Mercedes is flourishing since then. She’s done really well on her own. But Kamille, we haven’t seen her since she was attacked, and we’re not sure what that was and what that was about."
Khan added, "I do think that’s an interesting thought for sure, and it’s something to keep an eye on, but that would be a great matchup. When Kamille does return to get payback for that attack, it’ll be interesting to see who she goes after.”
Hopefully Kamille is given another chance as she’s really a talented performer.
Speculation and Future Possibilities
There's no confirmation that AEW did actually sour on Kamille, though based on her booking, it wouldn't be a surprise if they did. Yet, Toni Storm was the only one that got the push on television. "They didn't do anything with [her]. She came in, she had that terrible match, and then it was kinda like... "I think that they may not have understood the level that she was at, you know?" he added.
