In the finals, Lee faced a formidable opponent in Rei Higuchi of Japan, the 2022 World champion and 2023 World bronze medalist, who also earned a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games. Higuchi emerged victorious in a closely contested match, winning 4-2 to claim his second Olympic medal. Lee managed to secure two first-period step-out points, leading 2-0 at the break. However, Higuchi scored a takedown in the second period to tie the score at 2-2, taking the lead on criteria.
