Big Ten Wrestling Tournament Brackets: Release Date and Key Wrestlers

The Big Ten Conference has announced the final brackets and opening-round matchups for the 2025 Big Ten Wrestling Championships.

The tournament is set to take place Saturday and Sunday in Evanston, Illinois.

The complete tournament brackets and official seeds will be released Friday afternoon following the Big Ten Conference coaches meeting.

Iowa Hawkeyes at the Championships

Eight University of Iowa wrestlers are seeded fifth or better in the pre-seeds for the 2025 Big Ten Championships, it was announced Wednesday by the league office.

The Hawkeyes have two No. 1 seeds in Drake Ayala (133) and Stephen Buchanan (197).

There are two Hawkeyes seeded second and three seeded fourth.

Kyle Parco (149) and Michael Caliendo (165) are both the second seed in their brackets, while Jacori Teemer (157), Patrick Kennedy (174), and Gabe Arnold (184) are each the No. 4 seed.

Joey Cruz is the No. 5 seed at 125 pounds, Ben Kueter is the No. 7 seed at 285, and Cullan Schriever is the No. 11 seed at 141.

Purdue Boilermakers at the Championships

Top-ranked Matt Ramos holds the No. 1 seed and the only first-round bye on the team.

He will face the winner of No. 8 Nicolar Rivera (WIS).

Ramos has faced both wrestlers before and won both contests, most recently over Rivera in an 11-2 major decision to help Purdue beat Wisconsin 33-7 on Feb. 7.

Flynn was pinned by Ramos in their only meeting on Jan. 19.

Sophomore Joey Blaze is the next highest-ranked Boilermaker with the No. 6 seed in a talented 157-pound division.

He's set to square off against No. 11 Jason Kraisser (IL).

Also of note, No. 8 Brody Baumann will face No. 9 Lucas Condon (WIS) in a rematch from Purdue's February bout with the Badgers.

How to Watch the Championships

The 2025 Big Ten Wrestling Championships will be live on the Big Ten Network and BTN Plus.

All duals on the Big Ten Network can also be streamed through the FOX Sports App.

On B1G+, individual mat cameras, as well as the quad box, will allow viewers to customize their experience.

Here's the broadcast schedule:

  • Saturday, March 8: The opening session, including the first round and quarterfinal duals, will be broadcast on BTN and B1G+. Coverage begins at 11:00 AM ET.
  • Saturday, March 8: Wrestlebacks and consolation matches will be covered on B1G+ starting at 5:00 PM ET.
  • Sunday, March 9: Consolation semifinals and seventh-place matches will be on B1G+ with individual mat cameras starting at 12:00 PM ET.
