Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion, has always been a figure of both admiration and controversy. In the lead-up to his highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul, Tyson has been making headlines not only for his training regime but also for his strategic business partnerships.

Among these partnerships, one that has caught the eye is his collaboration with Dimopoulos Law Firm. This Las Vegas-based firm, specializing in personal injury legal services, has prominently featured Tyson in its advertising campaigns.
The Dimopoulos Law Firm's Rise in the Phoenix Market
Dimopoulos Law Firm is a Las Vegas-based firm that made its entrance into the Phoenix market earlier this year. The stoic-looking man on the billboard with the Chet Ubetcha chin is Steve Dimopoulos, the owner and lead attorney of the firm.
Like many firms that use billboards to advertise their services, Dimopoulos Law is a personal injury and wrongful death firm. They handle cases related to all types of different accidents, including car, drunk driving, trucking, motorcycle, pedestrian, bicycle and rideshare accidents. The firm also handles class action and medical malpractice suits.

The "WE WIN" Slogan and Marketing Strategy
Is the “WE WIN” slogan accurate? That’s hard to say. Most big personal injury firms take few cases to trial, resolving most claims via settlement.
If you think the billboards are intriguing, you should get a load of the firm’s movie-quality TV spots. In one, Dimopoulos styles himself as a Bruce Wayne type, galavanting as a costumed protector of the city in his free time.
“You’re city needs you,” a blonde staffer tells Dimopoulos in a white marble and black office with dozens of ornate chandeliers on the ceiling. He’s then shown admiring a black armored suit before stepping into a black sports car that speeds through a city. It cuts to Dimopoulos in the car, his face covered by a black mask.
In another ad, he speaks to a crowded room during a mock press conference. Then, the commercial cuts to him exiting a black SUV while being followed by reporters as he walks into the courtroom, as cameras flash. The court’s judge is played by actor Eric Roberts, the less famous brother of Julia Roberts.

Eric Roberts notably played a mob boss in “The Dark Knight,” from which Dimopoulos’ commercials appear to be cribbing their aesthetic. In a third ad that’s reminiscent of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” Dimopoulos speaks to members of a jury, one of whom is reality TV star Scott Disick.
TV host and actor Mario Lopez pops up in another video as a podcast host. In a much more casual Instagram video, Dimopoulos hangs out with boxer Mike Tyson ahead of his November 2024 fight against Jake Paul.
Tyson's Endorsement and Sponsorship
Mike Tyson puzzled fans with the T-shirt he wore when he walked onto a stage at the Apollo Theater in New York on May 13. It was black with white lettering that read, “Dimopoulos Law Firm.”
Dimopoulos Law Firm, which provides personal injury legal services and like Tyson is based in Las Vegas, reported on its Instagram page, “We're excited to share that we are an official sponsor of Mike Tyson in his upcoming fight against Jake Paul.’’
A billboard in Las Vegas features a photo of Tyson, a photo of law firm owner Steve Dimopoulous and the firm’s motto: “We Win.’’

Tyson is sporting a t-shirt emblazoned with the name of personal injury law firm Dimopoulos Lawyers who are no stranger to having their firm apparel worn by some of the biggest stars in sport.
Financial Implications and Merchandise
Capitalizing on the pre-fight publicity, he has promoted everything from caffeine-infused energy pouches, testosterone replacement therapy, a psychedelic mushroom home-grow kit, cannabis products, a clothing line, saunas, a financial services app and, of course, the personal injury law services in Las Vegas.
LF*GO, a company that sells the caffeine-infused energy pouches, has signage in Tyson's boxing gym. It's visible in video clips that have gone viral of Tyson training.
Also, during training videos and news conferences, Tyson has worn T-shirts bearing the logos of companies with whom he now partners.
“Everything came together because you get Iron Mike, but you also get this unbelievable spectacle of a fight,’’ said David Cynamon, chairman of LF*GO. “Iron Mike would've been somebody we wanted anyways. This (fight) was a cherry on top.’’
Some valuable publicity will come on fight night. Tyson’s minimalist look is getting a new twist thanks to his partnership with BYLT Basics, the clothing company that said it will design Tyson's signature black boxing trunks.
“They will be a tribute to Mike Tyson’s iconic style, with a minimalistic approach in a classic black color and sleek design,’’ BYLT told USA TODAY Sports through a spokesperson. “Perfectly tailored to Mike Tyson, the shorts will be a timeless style that channels the power and talent of the champion.’’
The cut-out towel Tyson famously wore also will be made by BYLT, according to the company. “We are making another piece to be featured in his pre-fight walk up - a modern take on his iconic cut out (towel), but with a BYLT twist.’’
Clearly, Tyson understands the value of attire before the fight takes place.

The Legal Angle: Class Action Lawsuit and Dimopoulos Law
Amidst Tyson’s promotional activities, Dimopoulos Law Firm is also involved in other high-profile cases. For instance, the firm filed a class action lawsuit against the Las Vegas Grand Prix on behalf of fans who experienced disruptions and limited viewing during the event.
The lawsuit comes after fans were forced to leave early from the Las Vegas Grand Prix venue before the start of the second practice session. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit say they were only able to watch nine minutes of the race before the race came to an end after driver Carlos Sainz Jr. damaged his Ferrari when he drove over a water valve cover.
Along with the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the lawsuit names its owner, Liberty Media, and is seeking at least $30,000 in damages on the claim the spectators did not get what they paid for. The plaintiffs argue that the $200 credit at the gift shop does nothing to remedy the situation considering that race tickets were anywhere from $1,300 to $4,600.
“Clearly that is not a refund that is sufficient. A lot of fans probably don't even want that, they want their money back," shared representing attorney Steve Dimopoulos.
Mike Tyson: "Iron Mike" Set for Boxing Comeback
“Iron Mike” is 57 years old these days, which I’m going to say means he’s past his prime (don’t tell him I said that, though). Still, he was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, as well as the only heavyweight to unify them in succession.
With the professional status of the bout in mind, that means Mike Tyson will get an exepected chance to improve - or worsen - his record after almost 20 years. The Brooklyn native will be 58 by the time of the fight in July, which will be almost 19 years after he last competed in a professional match-up.
“The Baddest Man on the Planet” won 50 of his 58 fights between March 1985 and June 2005, although he three of his six pro defeats came in his last four bouts. After being knocked out by British duo Lennox Lewis and then Danny Williams, he ended his career - until now - in underwhelming fashion, retiring before the start of the seventh round against Irish journeyman Kevin McBride.
Tyson's last fight all told was an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr in November 2020, which was a better spectacle than many had anticipated but left few desperate to see “Iron Mike” back in the ring on a regular basis. His draw against Jones Jr in Los Angeles came more than 14 years after we last saw him in the ring in a non-scored bout against Corey Sanders.
Jake Paul: YouTube, Actor, Pro Boxer
Jake Paul has gone through quite the transformation. Starting as a content creator posting pranks, controversies and hip hop songs on Vine (remember that?), the 27-year-old turned to boxing in 2018 and has done pretty well for himself.
To call Paul simply a “social media star” is selling him a bit short, although he does still have lots to prove as a boxer. The 27-year-old, who made his name as an online content creator, has since carved out a successful boxing career that he is taking incredibly seriously. After starting out against fellow YouTubers and non-boxers, Paul has stated his desire to face real out-and-out boxers in an effort to prove he deserves to compete for a world title.
Paul has a 9-1 record from 10 fights, winning three by knockout, including against former NBA star Nate Robinson and MMA fighter Nate Diaz (by unilateral decision).
Fight Details
Here are some key details about the upcoming fight:
- When:July 2024
- Where: AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas
- Gloves: 14-ounce gloves
- Streaming: Netflix
The venue for the fight, though, is the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The 320-foot-tall retractable-roof stadium, earned its “Death Star” nickname due to its sheer size, and is also affectionately (I think) refereed to as Jerry World after Dallas Cowboys owner, president and general manager Jerry Jones, the man behind its construction.
In addition to NFL, AT&T Stadium has hosted college football, basketball, Wrestlemania, supercross and soccer, with matches at the upcoming 2024 Copa América and 2026 FIFA World Cup to be played there. Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and The Rolling Stones are among the big names to have performed in concert in Arlington.
