Island Boy Kodiyakredd Suffers Defeat in MMA Debut at Adin Ross' Brand Risk Promotion

The Island Boys, known for their viral meme status after their infamous singing in 2021, found themselves in the spotlight once again at Adin Ross' Brand Risk Promotion event. Popular streamer Adin Ross recently started up the Brand Risk Promotion, which pits other online stars opposite one another in caged kickboxing or MMA matches.

The event attracted attention, even drawing UFC CEO Dana White and Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell as commentators alongside Ross and boxing champion Teofimo Lopez. They mostly joked around and made bets on the fights, which felt appropriate.

Kodiyakredd vs. Oblivion: A First-Round Finish

The highlight of the evening was the co-main event between Kick streamer Oblivion and “Island Boy” Kodiyakredd. In his boxing debut in front of 390,000 streaming viewers on Friday night, Island Boys' Franky "Kodiyakredd" Venegas lost in the first round against Oblivion. Oblivion delivered a decisive first-round knockout, silencing the viral duo in less than three minutes.

White backed Oblivion, and Campbell picked Kodiyakredd. If Campbell had seen The Island Boy mitt work, he would’ve known better! Kodiyakredd threw down but wasn’t any good at it, suffering a late stoppage loss. Oblivion's victory, meanwhile, reportedly won UFC CEO Dana White $10,000 in his bet on the fight.

Chaos Ensues: Flyysoulja's Ring Entry and Ejection

As the referee waved off the match, emotions ran high. Out of frustration, Flyysoulja hopped into the ring with his brother in an attempt to approach Oblivion together, but they were thwarted by security guards. Alex Venegas, known as Flyysoulja and the other half of the infamous twins, climbed into the ring, attempting to confront Oblivion alongside his brother. Security intervened before anything escalated, escorting the Island Boys out of the venue.

The disruption brought the bout to an abrupt end, overshadowing even the odd spectacle of NFL star Sauce Gardner and rapper Ice Spice appearing together on the kiss cam-and completely ignoring each other. The Island Boys stirred chaos once again-this time at Adin Ross’ high-profile boxing event, where their night ended in embarrassment and ejection.

Controversial Claims and Backlash

In a recent livestream promoting the boxing event, Kodiyakredd claimed he and his brother earned $14 million for an OnlyFans promotional stunt involving a kiss between the twins. “You think I’m doing that for free?” he snapped at panelists. The comment drew swift backlash. Not long after, the duo were banned from the platform.

The Island Boys have been involved in a string of legal incidents but are mostly known as social media personalities. The Island Boys have built their popularity on beefing with rappers and influencers such as Snoop Dogg, Blueface, and Jake Paul.

Dana White's Perspective on Influencer Boxing

During the live stream, Dana White spoke openly about a number of topics, including influencer boxing. Asked what he feels about social media stars fighting, White replied: “I think there’s always going to be interest in people fighting that people know. Ones that have some sort of fame, some people hate them, other people love them and people are always going to be interested.”

Campbell then noted that the issue is influencers pretending to be contenders with legitimate athletes. I don’t think Anderson Silva or Nate Diaz have to worry about eventually losing to a Brand Risk veteran, however, because these “athletes” make Jake Paul look like George Foreman.

Charleston White vs. Kodiyakredd: Another Loss for the Island Boy

Charleston White is known for being a sometimes funny, often cringeworthy, and very controversial comedian, but people witnessed another one of his “talents” this past weekend. The 48-year-old personality walked away from a boxing match victorious after Island Boys’ Kodiyakredd quit mid-fight. White came in with a controversial history at Ross’ boxing events, one of which he had to be removed from the venue after a first-round loss to streamer Oblivion.

This time around, he seemed to have something to prove, given that he came in with an 0-3 record. He also had strong backing, in the form of boxing coach Milton Lacroix, who had been known to have trained Logan Paul. He approached this fight methodically, and by the second round, one bad punch had Kodiyak throwing in the towel.

White seemed to also be motivated by an altercation that took place between his wife, Tamara White, and Kodiyakredd’s girlfriend. “His girl spit on my girl,” he exclaimed to Ross. “That’s assault. So we going to ask [the] police department to file a criminal charge against Island Boy girlfriend. Then I’m going to get him civilly.”
