Adult Wrestling Clubs

FIRST PRACTICE

We provide folkstyle and freestyle wrestling instruction, practice, and competition for adults of all ages and backgrounds in the nation's capital. Our room is safe, inclusive, and LGBTQ-friendly. Read our Code of Conduct here.

What Do I Need To Bring?

Wrestling shoes are highly recommended for anyone who wants to join us on the mats. We cannot have sneakers or other outside footwear on the mats, so if you don't have a pair of wrestling shoes just yet, you can practice in socks or bare feet for now. Other than that, any gym-appropriate attire works just fine! Please remove any jewelry before practicing as well.

Adult grappling sessions run from early March until the end of October every Wednesday at 6:15PM. Adult grappling consists of folkstyle, freestyle, & Greco Roman wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, submission wrestling and self-defense fundamentals.

Youth Wrestling Clubs

Bethesda-Chevy Chase (“B-CC”) Youth Wrestling Club

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase (“B-CC”) Youth Wrestling Club is a wrestling club for boys and girls starting at age 7. The B-CC Youth Wrestling Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation, and is chartered by USA Wrestling. BCC Youth Wrestling Club is a Tournament Club that competes in weekly tournaments. Wrestlers may compete as much or as little as they like, but we do encourage competition.

This year we will have a Junior Rec Team for kids with 0-3 years of experience, but not yet in 6th+ grade. The Junior Team will practice twice a week from 6:30pm to 8pm. The Senior Rec Team is for kids with 2+ years of experience, but not yet an 8th grader or athletic 7th grader. This team will also practice twice a week from 6:30pm to 8pm.

The Travel Team consists of experienced wrestlers who have surpassed the skill level of the recreational league and have demonstrated a readiness for more advanced training and competition. The Travel team competes in weekly tournaments throughout the State and region.

If you have a new wrestler joining this club or have a rec wrestler in the club who wants to bump up, please speak with a coach before registering as we want to make sure that we place the kids on the most appropriate teams.

St. Albans Wrestling Club

The Wrestling Club offers students a unique opportunity to develop discipline, perseverance, and athleticism while honing their strength, endurance, and agility. As a challenging sport that demands both mental and physical toughness, wrestling fosters valuable life skills that extend far beyond the mat. Additionally, participation in wrestling can open doors to college scholarships, providing students with opportunities to further their education while continuing to pursue their passion for the sport.

General Information About Wrestling

Wrestling is for everyone. We welcome athletes of all sizes, shapes, and ability levels. We believe that wrestling should be a fun and positive experience for young athletes and work to balance both wrestling is more fun than defensive wrestling, and encourage an aggressive, attacking approach to the sport. We expect all of our athletes to be good students, good sports, and good citizens. Bullying, hazing, and poor sportsmanship is never tolerated.
