Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) focuses on submission grappling, making it a powerful martial art for both sport and self-defense-perfect for all ages! We welcome everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners, with students as young as 3. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu changed her life, and she wants to help others do the same through a supportive and inclusive environment.

Muay Thai
Our Muay Thai classes offer a fun, and safe environment to learn the art of eight limbs - hands, elbows, knees, legs. Here, students of all ages and skill levels can explore the principles, techniques, and traditions of Muay Thai in a supportive space.
Muay Thai Basics: Jab - AKA Techniques
Shaolin Kung Fu
Wu de is at the core of our program, approach, and style of teaching and mentoring. We approach life and martial arts with three key tenets. Junhong is dedicated to making Shaolin philosophy and values available to those who can benefit from the warrior spirit.
WuDao Junhong’s KungFu Club offers traditional Chinese martial arts such as Shaolin WuGulun Xinyiba style and Yang traditional tai chi. Alejandra is dedicated to spreading the philosophy and values of Shaolin, to inspire her students to find their own path, helping them improve their inner strength and self-knowledge.
Instructors
The quality of instruction is paramount in martial arts. West Seattle boasts experienced and dedicated instructors:
- Luis Angel Poblett: WuDao Junhong’s KungFu Club instructor. He is a martial artist student of Master Chon, sanda and MMA practitioner. He is mainly focused in traditional Chinese martial arts such as Shaolin WuGulun Xinyiba style and Yang traditional tai chi.
- Junhong: Shaolin secular disciple, USA team mate and coach, World championship, and student of Master Hu Zheng Sheng.
- Alejandra: Is a secular disciple of the Shaolin Temple, a companion and student of Master Jun Hong Chon, and also a student of Master Hu Zheng Sheng.
Programs for Kids
Our kids’ martial arts classes are designed to help children build focus, self-control, discipline, and a strong self-image. Through goal setting and achievement, kids grow both mentally and physically in a positive, structured environment.

| How long does it take to be a black belt/master a skill? | Achieving a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or mastery in Muay Thai requires a significant amount of dedication, discipline, and training. The time it takes to achieve this level varies from person to person and depends on many factors such as frequency of training, natural ability, and commitment to the art. As long as you are consistent in training, you’ll start to see progress quickly. |
| Do I have to be fit to join? | No one is born fit - we've all started somewhere. Our introductory classes provide an excellent opportunity to discover if you are right for martial arts and martial arts is right for you. You will be in a class with other new starters just like yourself, so it’s a great way to make friends whilst you travel the road to fitness! |
| Do I get the chance to meet new friends? | Yes. We like to organize our classes in small groups. Small group settings allow you to make new friends that might share the same interest(s) as you! |
| How often should I train? | Like anything in life, the more you do it, the better you will become at it. We recommend starting twice a week where possible. |
| What kind of clothing should I wear to my first class? | For Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, you’ll borrow a gi (the BJJ uniform) - plan on wearing fitted athletic clothing such as compression shorts and shirt that will be comfortable under the gi. For Muay Thai, we recommend wearing comfortable workout clothes such as shorts and a t-shirt, you will borrow gloves and shin guards for the first class. Absolutely no zippers or buttons allowed on the mats. |
| Is there physical contact during training? | Yes, both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai are contact sports that involve physical contact. However, our instructors prioritize safety and proper technique, and will always work with you to ensure that you are comfortable and safe during your training.
