High School Career

One of the top performers for national power Wyoming Seminary, the 190-pound Correa is already a physical specimen as a sophomore. He was a standout junior wrestler in New England and is a prep national champion who has been dominant all winter.

“At first, it’s scary because I was 15 and moving away from home,” Correa said. “Coming here, taking a hold of my training and becoming just more responsible about everything in life, it’s a big adjustment.

“My mindset is something I really focused a lot on at Sem. My coaches breathe that into us,” Correa said. “We sit down and visualize the match, and us coming off the mat as a winner. Before every match, if you ask me how I’m going to do, I say I’m going to pin this kid in 20 seconds. Even if he’s No. 1 in the country or a kid who is just starting, either way, I’m going to say the same thing.

“I remember my freshman year with the Blair dual and the huge crowd. It was cool to see how many people come out to the matches. It’s always been a great experience. I love to hear the roar of a big crowd, and to get them going,” he said.

Key Achievements and Victories

Correa has put together a stand-out high school career filled with titles at Ironman, Super 32, Powerade, National Preps, and Beast of the East. He’s also going to leave Seminary with the most pins in school history.

Some of the wins in that streak include names like Malvern Prep’s Jack Wehmeyer, Muncy’s Austin Johnson, Greens Farm Academy’s Nate Taylor and Nebraska’s Cade Ziola.

Correa also defeated four-time Pennsylvania champ Rune Lawrence and California’s Nicholas Sahakian at Super 32s. This fall, Correa accepted a super-match against Nicholas Sahakian, the top-ranked heavyweight in the country and walked away with a victory.

According to Flo Sports, he’s the No. 1 wrestler in the nation at 215 lbs.
