In November 2023, Tyson Foods voluntarily recalled approximately 30,000 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken "Fun Nuggets". This recall was initiated after a limited number of consumers reported finding small, pliable metal pieces in the product.
Tyson Dino-Chicken Nuggets
The recalled products include Tyson® Brand fully cooked “Fun Nuggets” sold to retailers in 29-ounce packages. No other Tyson® brand products are affected. The frozen chicken patties were produced on September 5, 2023. The product subject to recall bears establishment number “P-7211” located on the back on the package.

Advance Pierre Foods Recalls Country Fried Steak Products
In December 2012, Advance Pierre Foods of Enid, Okla., recalled approximately 15,328 lbs. of frozen, fully cooked country fried steak products because they may contain pieces of plastic. The steaks were produced on Dec. 21, 2012. Two people were injured after eating the country fried steaks.
Advance Pierre alerted FSIS to the problem after receiving complaints from two customers who each received an oral injury after eating the product. FSIS said the problem was caused by a piece of a plastic bin that was broken into smaller pieces during the production process.

- 22.75-oz. pouches of "Fast Classics Country Fried Steaks" in 8.5-lb.
- The packages bear the establishment number "EST.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

Listeria Concerns in 2021 Led to Chicken Product Recall
On June 9, 2021, FSIS was notified of two persons ill with listeriosis. The epidemiologic investigation identified three listeriosis illnesses, including one death, between April 6, 2021 and June 5, 2021. During routine sample collection, FSIS collected two precooked chicken samples from two establishments that are closely related genetically to Listeria monocytogenes from ill people.
The frozen, fully cooked chicken products were produced between December 26, 2020 and April 13, 2021. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. P-7089” on the product bag or inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped nationwide to retailers and institutions, including hospitals, nursing facilities, restaurants, schools and Department of Defense locations.

Listeria monocytogenes
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics.
