The Mat Club has multiple locations with various mat sizes to accommodate different group sizes and activities.

How It Works

The Mat Club offers two primary rental options:

Private Wrestling Coach

Book facility time for private lessons or small groups under The Mat Club USAW charter.
Complete the vetting process to become an approved coach.
Reserve the mat space you need on our Google Calendar based on group size and availability.
One-on-one sessions book a smaller space for a lower hourly rate.
Larger groups can book larger mat spaces or multiple rooms for camps and events.
Follow our club processes, use our waivers, and adhere to our policies.

Team or Private Club / Program

Book facility space on a recurring or single event basis with a license agreement.
Work together on a long-term schedule.
The more hours you book, the lower the hourly rate.
Vett your staff and execute an agreement.
Add The Mat Club as additionally insured.
Implement your own athlete safety and abuse policies.
Be a state-registered entity with an EIN that is fully insured.

Booking and Payment

Mat Club Butler and Boonton schedules are managed via Google Calendar for easy booking. To book mat space:

Open the Google Calendar via the provided link.
If the mat space is available, create an event.
Title the event "Large Mat: Your Program Name" or "Small Mat: Your Program Name" and choose the correct key color for the mat space.
Add [email protected] as a guest to receive a notification of the new booking.
Pay for your mat space via Zelle at the start of the booked time slot.

Remember to pay for private lessons on the small mat or one-off events on the large mat via Zelle at the start of the booked time slot. Failure to pay on time will result in a 50% late fee per day. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance, or the mat fee is due.

Respect and Cleanliness

Share the space respectfully with other users and their clients. Keep noise and music to a minimum, and ensure your clients are aware of the section of mat you have booked. Leave the facility cleaner than you found it by disposing of water bottles, paper, tape, and cleaning the mats if they are soiled. Disinfect the mats after your session according to The Mat Club Mat Cleaning Policy.

Coach Certifications & Compliance

All coaches must complete the following steps and be cleared by The Mat Club admin:

Purchase and maintain an active USA Wrestling Leader Membership.
Become a USA Wrestling Leader by completing the necessary steps in your USA Wrestling account, including concussion training.
Get certified in CPR/AED/First Aid.

These steps will take at least 10 days for the background check and approximately 5 hours for online and in-person classes and certifications. All components must be renewed annually on or before August 31st.

Additional Requirements

To run classes, you must be a registered business with a Federal EIN and carry insurance at certain limits, naming The Mat Club LLC and Park Place LLC as additionally insured. Anyone coaching or volunteering with repeated interaction with students must have their Mat Club Coach Certifications complete and approved.

Cancellations and Missed Time Slots

If you miss a rented time slot due to a game or other conflict, your team will forfeit those hours, and they cannot be made up. There are no makeup days for missed time slots; additional time must be booked as additional hours at the market rate and is subject to availability.
